Our beautiful SPRING artwork

Pupils took turns to choose a 3D shape and describe its properties.

They counted faces, corners and vertices.

During a class discussion about shape properties, pupils had the opportunity to feel the shape under the jumper and describe it to their classmates.  Their classmates then guessed the name of the 3D shape described.

Great class work!

P3 & 4 developed their mathematical language discussing shape properties.

P4 chose an item to buy from a takeaway menu game board.

They then showed how to find change from £1, £2, £5 & £10

Pupils worked really hard during our Fairytales literacy topic.

They then constructed their very own fairytale story.

The photos below show pupils concentrating on describing story settings.

P3/4 enjoy working in pairs and groups for numeracy lessons.

Using gameboards helps to encourage active, independent learners.

Children have the opportunity to develop mathematical language and explain their thinking.

Lynn made P4 a yummy chocolate cake for all their hard work keeping our classroom tidy... great helpers!

P3 & P4 had a fab time at Parkanaur learning about Birds.

We saw robins, jackdaws, crows and even a buzzard!

It was a real treat to see lots of frogs spawn as we had studied about the frog life cycle in literacy.

The children were really well behaved and enjoyed being out in the fresh air.
